Mario Ciaramitaro conducts research in interface cultures, design cultures and visual arts.

He co-curate aarduork.com together with Alberto Restucci and Helicotrema, Recorded Audio Festival as part of the Blauer Hase Collective.

His recent PhD dissertation The treason of the interface: a manifesto for critical design explores the root problems of interface identity and why there were opportunities for the big-tech companies to shift the social dreaming about the early digital age to a consumer driven digital lifestyle. The result is a call on radical procedures and design approaches that can lead to a public discussion and investigation of digital future.

Since 2009 he tutors at the BA visual arts classes at Università Iuav di Venezia where he currently collaborates with Luca Trevisani.
